Halloween 2008

I couldn't help but look at Lillian in her Halloween costume today and think about Halloween last year. She was only five months old and Eli had just been born....seems like so long ago to me. Well, of course I started feeling nostalgic and made the mistake of going back to take a peek at our pictures from Boo @ The Zoo and the Pumpkin patch last year. I couldn't help it...and then of course I cried at how much she has changed over the year and how big she had gotten. At the pumpkin patch last year I changed her into three different outfits(a owl, a cow, and a pumpkin of course) and nursed her on the hay ride-quite discreetly I might add; I was a pro at nursing in public by then. But this year I could barely get her to sit still on the hay ride to the pumpkin patch and she was even big enough to ride the pony!! How things change in such a short period of time...

our little pumpkin had just started sitting up on her own a few weeks before.

WARNING: A TON OF PICTURES TO FOLLOW...

For the past month neither our laptop or our desk top has been working, so the few blog posts I
have made have been from Alli's computer or my parents. But now, thanks to my smart hubby, our desk top is back working- well kind of.

Enjoy...

Internet Deprived

Both of our computers at home are not currently in working order, so I have been having to resort to my phone to check my email and people.com. And obviously I have not been able to update the blog in forever. But today I am at Alli's house so I thought that even though I could not upload pics here I could update you on some pretty funny things Lillian has been doing lately.

*She constantly is walking around on her tippy-toes.
*She has crawled into our bath tub and tried to turn on the water a couple of time now, so needless to say we are constantly making sure the bathroom door is shut.
*I have been working on words with her and got these great flash cards with the picture and the word on them. I hold them up to her and say the word pointing at the picture. Than I say the word again pointing at my mouth(sounds crazy but is helpful according to speech therapist). This morning while we were sitting in the playroom she grabs one of the cards and walks over to me, holds the card out in front of my face, points to her mouth and says the word. I almost died laughing...she is such a mimicker.
*She will eat anything if you let her dip it in ketchup first.
*When she gives me hugs she will lay her head on my shoulder and pat my back...absolutely melts my heart.
*When Shaun was leaving for work one rainy morning last week Lillian and I were cuddled up in bed together when Shaun stuck his head in the room and said "good-bye". Lillian popped right up and waved to him and then laid right back down beside me. Shaun barley made it out the door that day...he thought it was the sweetest thing ever.
*Oh, and perhaps our biggest news...Lillian has been going on the potty a lot lately. She usually pees on her own hand, but what can your expect from a 17 month old. We are no where near actual potty training, but are on a right track.

Lillian is one very active, energetic and entertaining toddler. She definitely keeps us on our toes; we never know what she will do next. Hopefully our computer will be fixed soon, but until then our updates will be few and far between. I promise to get some cute pics up from Boo @ the Zoo sometime this weekend.

Parent's Day Out Drop Outs....

This past September Lillian started going two days a week to Trinity United Methodist Parent's Day Out Program. Well, I use the term "going" loosely. We paid for her to go, we intended for her to go, I even drove there a couple of times with the intent to go through the car-pool line and drop her off. Don't get me wrong, it is an AMAZING program and her teachers are nothing less than wonderful. In fact there are 36 kids on the waiting list for Lillian's class; I mean that has to say something. Not to mention that the three times Lillian went she always had a great time, and got the cutest little notes sent home with her. But I guess I just wasn't really ready for her to go to Parent's Day Out. When I signed her up last January I thought that I would feel differently by the time September rolled around, but I cried every time I dropped her off. I guess we will just try again next fall. I only get this time with her once, and right now I am just not willing to share it with anyone else.

Eli's Birthday Dinner

Last night we went to eat dinner with Alli, Korey and Eli for Eli's birthday. Lillian and Eli had a lot of fun sharing food and playing with each other at the table. I cannot believe what a "big boy" Eli is becoming and Shaun and I are so proud of him! We cannot wait for Eli's first birthday party on Saturday; it will be so much fun!

we were both pretty worn out after a long day
