Whitten's Newborn Pictures

We had Whitten's newborn pictures taken last Thursday and they turned out GREAT! I could not be more happy with them, and could not wait to share them with you. Just follow the following link and then click on Client proofing and type in the password which is Hays

Shaun and I are so proud of our little boy and are still in such awe of him. We cannot help but to feel overwhelmingly blessed.

Slinging It

When you spend your days chasing a toddler around it is important to have both hands available so I can save Lillian from certain death and disaster every five minutes. But now that I have Whitten my hands are a little occupied than they use to be. So I am trying to follow in Alli's footsteps and wear Whitten in my Maya Ring Sling when we are out and about. I tried it for the first time over the weekend when we made a quick run to Wal Mart, and then again at a birthday party we went to on Sunday.  It is definitely not as easy as it looks and I need to watch the instructional DVD about a million more times! But I do enjoy it; it allows we to be close to Whitten and still have my hands free to take care of Lillian. Hopefully I will get better at getting Whitten in and our of the sling the more I use it.

Cuddle Buddies

Lillian loves to cuddle and hold Whitten. We have had to keep and extra eye on her when is around him or she will just scoop him up, which is obviously not a good idea. She is such a little mommy and takes her role as a big sister very seriously.

Lillian is very serious about her baby doll...

...she always makes sure it has everything it needs!

Painted By You

This past Wednesday Shaun and I took Lillian and Whitten to Painted By You in Homewood to do a little creative art work. I also wanted to get Whitten's footprints put on a tile that I could hang in his room. Lillian spent five minutes trying to pick out what it was that she wanted to paint, and finally settled on painting a little ceramic heart. The very sweet lady who worked there helped us paint Whitten's feet-its not easy to get a newborn to not bend their toes/feet- and she got great little foot prints! It was a fun little outing for our family and I will always love looking back at how tiny Whitten's feet were when he was only one week old!

can you tell it was Lillian's day to dress herself?

Whitten did not love having his feet painted...

It will look a ton better than this after it is "fired" in the kiln

A TON OF PICTURES!

Shaun and I tried to get Lillian and Whitten to take some pictures together in their Little Brother/Big Sister shirts and these pictures are about as good as we got. On Thursday we are having Whitten's newborn pictures taken, so hopefully a professional can get some better pictures.

Watching Football With Daddy

This past Saturday Whitten watched his first, of many, Auburn football games with his Daddy! I had the adorable onsie monogrammed for Whitten to wear during the game, but Whitten decided to spit up all over it just before kick off.

I stole this pic off of Julia's blog...I thought is was so cute. Here is Shaun and his brother Ryan in their Auburn gear with their boys! (Shaun, Whitten, Ryan and Wyatt)

Whitten's First Check-Up

On Monday Shaun and I packed up the kids and took Whitten for his first check-up with Dr. Walley! Whitten was easy and pretty much slept from the time we left our house until the time we got back. He pretty much only woke up when the weighed him and when they pricked his heal. And of course once to eat, which he LOVES to do.

Whitten had lost a little bit of weight sense we left the hospital on Friday, which of course concerned me but Dr. Walley said that it was not a significant enough loss to warrant any worry. He left the hospital a little bit jaundice with a bilirubin level of 9.4 on Friday. But over the weekend I noticed that he was looking a bit more yellow. So I was not surprised that on Monday morning his levels were up to 14.1.  We have had him baking in the sun light sense yesterday, so he should be back to his normal color soon. We go back for his two week check up next Thursday, and after seeing how difficult it was to go to the doctor with Lillian in tow Shaun said that he would drop Lillian off at school for me and then just go into the office late. I am surprised that after spending a couple days home with us that he hasn't begged to go back to work early!
