Our Little Family
A few weeks ago we had family pictures taken and I think they turned out so good. My goal was to get one good one of all four of us, and a few good ones of the kids. I love, love, love all of the ones of the kids, especially the one of Lillian trying to make John Whitten smile....you will know which one it is when you see it : ) check them out here....the password is Hays2

7 Months Old
Well seven months and one day, but who's counting? I hate to say it but so far my sweet boy's seventh month in this world hasn't started off to great. We were at the doctors office this morning with John Whitten after battling a high fever all day yesterday and last night. He has, yet again, another ear infection. This is his fourth one in three months! We are trying a different antibiotic, so hopefully it will help clear everything up.
It is hard to believe that time is going by so quickly, and it seems like just yesterday I was writing his "six month" post. John Whitten is such an amazing blessing to our family and I cannot even begin to tell you how much he has enriched our lives. Here are a few little facts about my baby boy at seven months old:
-He laughs all of the time...he has a deep belly laugh like his Daddy.
-He still loves to nurse, and we have not started any baby food yet.
-He still has three teeth now, and two more that you can see under the gum. Poor guy is dealing with double ear infections and two teeth coming in, yet some how he is still smiling.
-John Whitten is quite the chunky little boy. He is in size 4 diapers and wearing 18 month clothes!
-At the doctor today he weighed 22 lbs and 11 ounces!
-He starts the night out in his crib and usually makes it until 1:00 or 2:00 before he comes into our bed.
-Poor Shaun, John Whitten is still very much so a Mommy's boy but he is warming up to Shaun much more these days.
-He loves to grab my hair and wrap it around his little hands.
-He makes my heart melt....I cannot get over how much I love this little boy!

What Day Is It?
One of the great things about being a stay at home mommy is that you can just lose track of the days. The weekend doesn't really mean anything to you other than the husband will be home to do all these fun things with us. I love getting lost in the week with Lillian and John Whitten, but sometimes I might get a little too lost. Last night I realized that we are moving in just four weeks!! This would usually be no big deal, four weeks is plenty of time to pack and get things ready for the move. But when you add in a few factors like Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday, a baby shower I am helping host and the fact that Shaun is back in crazy study mode for his next section of the CPA the act of getting our house organized and packed up all the sudden becomes more than a little stressful.
Shaun went yesterday to reserve the Uhaul and also went ahead and bought some boxes so that I can start packing some things up during the day (easier said than done with a toddler and six month old). Hopefully I will be able to get a few boxes packed up over this next week and try not to worry so much about the rest. I mean, I did manage to pack us up last summer with a two year old and while being eight months pregnant. Surely packing this time won't be as stressful as it was last summer.

Tuscaloosa Barnyard
Last Friday our MOMS club went to the Tuscaloosa Barnyard. It was SO much fun and I would totally recomend it to anyone! Alli and I put ALL four of the kids in my car-which was an event within itself- and caravaned with a couple of other moms down there. At first I was a little sad because it was overcasted on Friday, but it turned out to be such a fun day. They had buckets you filled up with feed and we just walked around feeding the different animals. Lillian had her bucket taken away from her by a few greedy goats but she got over it pretty quickly once she saw the pony ride. We held baby ducks and baby chicks, played with baby bunnies and took a boat ride around the pond. Then we ate lunch at the picnic tables and let the kids play on the playground before we loaded up and left. Did I mention we even splurged for some tshirts- 4 tshirts for $20 bucks! It was a long day, but we all had a lot of fun and I can't wait to go back one day soon.
Story Time With John Whitten
On Tuesdays John Whitten and I drop Lillian off at PDO and go to the Early Bird story time at the Hoover Library. I have to say that I LOVE that special time I get with my swett little boy. Usually our days are spent running all over the place heading to play dates for Lillian. But on Tuesdays it is just time I spend doing things with John Whitten. I have to admit that I relish the one on one time I get with my sweet boy; he is just growing up so fast.
Of course John Whitten's BFF and cousin Shepard was at story time too1

Play Dough Play Date
Last week our friend Mary Virgina invited us over with some other friends for a Play Dough play date! Everyone brought some of their play dough and play dough toys over and the kids basically just dumped it all out in the middle of Mary Virgina's kitchen and played. It was fun and the kids obviously had a great time playing while the mommies got a good chance to chat. Lillian loves play dough so this play date was a pretty exciting one for her.
Thanks again Mary Virgina for a great play date!
Shaun had a panic attack just looking at these pictures...he definitely couldn't handle a play dough at our house!

One Down, Three More To Go
Monday Shaun sat for the first of four test for the CPA. Shaun chose to take the Financial Accounting and Reporting section first, because everyone has said that was the hardest. We figured try to get the hardest one out the way first, but I know that he was really nervous about it. He has worked so hard and has logged more hours than I can count studying over these last ten weeks. I know that he did well, but we will just have to wait until June for his score. He will sit for the audit section on May 17, and then will have a little break from studying for a few weeks.
On top of working and studying so hard, Shaun even strapped on our littlest one and lent a hand with the household chores.

Conversations With Lillian
Lillian: "Mommy, I want to be a baby in your tummy again"
Me: "Why"
Lillian: "I be a baby in your tummy and I get born again...that was fun".
There are definitely days that I long to hold that sweet baby girl they handed to me in the hospital almost three years ago. But I have loved watching her grow into the sweet little girl she is today. I can think of nothing more bitter sweet than watching your children grow up.

Lillian's First Hair Cut
After almost three years with no hair cuts, Shaun finally caved and let me get Lillian's hair trimmed. We trimmed off three inches, but really you cannot even tell a difference. I basically had one curl trimmed off the bottom. Already Lillian is asking me if we can go have her hair cut again. She is such a girly girl, I should have known that she would love the whole beauty parlor scene.
*John Whitten started getting fusy at the end so I forgot to take a picture of her hair cut after Mrs. Cathy was done cutting : (
