Our Easter Weekend

On Saturday we visited the Easter Bunny at the mall! Lillian did not really want to touch him with her hands, but she did not mind sitting with him for a quick picture and even smiled! Uncle Mark spent the weekend with us and brought along his new dog Russel (still think it is a bad name Mark). Lillian loved him, and he was really the perfect size for her to play with. On Sunday Shaun, Lillian, myself and Mark all went to church and then over to Tina and Steve's for a yummy Easter lunch. Then we went to Leeds to visit with my family and by the time we got home everyone was pretty exhausted.

This past Easter was very special for Shaun and I, because it was our first Easter with Lillian. We had spent the week leading up to Easter Sunday reading the Easter story at bed time and praying for her, that she will one day come to understand and know the the sacrifice that Christ made. How wonderful and humbling it is to know God's love, and as parents it is our main goal to be examples of that love for Lillian.

"But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed......"You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen!"
Mark 16:1-3;8

It Really Was A Good Friday!

Shaun was off of work today for Good Friday so he decided that he and Lillian would have a Daddy-Daughter Day and Mommy would take a whole day for herself. I was pretty excited to say the least to walk out of the house this morning with a purse instead of a diaper bag!

I had an hour long massage scheduled for 10:00 this morning and after leaving there-totally relaxed- I headed over to the Summit for a little bit of shopping. I picked up a cute pair of heels for Easter and a HUGH Nine West bag that was on sale. After a quick call to check on things at the home front, I ran by Monograms Plus to pick up some bloomers I had ordered for Lillian last week. Turns out that I didn't really care for the font that I had chosen, but they are still really cute. Next, I headed over to Diplomat Deli for lunch with my younger brother Mark; that place is so good and is one of mine and Shaun's favorite places to eat on Sundays after church! Before heading home to my wonderful husband and precious little girl I stopped into my favorite nail salon and got a pedicure that I was in desprate need for.

When I got home Lillian was ready for her afternoon nap and I think Shaun was ready for a little nap too. They had been very busy playing outside and around the house, and their trip to Wal Mart for some last minuite Easter goodies really wore Lillian out. When I asked Shaun how his day with Lillian was he told me that he "had a BLAST"!!

Everyone have a Happy Easter!!

So Much Going On These Days

Ok, so it is not always easy to keep up with everything new that Lillian is doing these days. I love this age, mainly because it seems like everyday she is doing something new!! Her development just seems to be progressing so much, and I am so proud of who she is becoming. So I thought that I would just hit you with the highlight of what's new and what we did this week:

-Lillian loves her new "lunch bag" and wants to carry it everywhere with her.
-While we are not walking all the time she has started to walk a lot more just in the past couple of days. She pretty much only crawls when she wants to get somewhere fast.
-Everyday we have to swing outside for at least 20 minutes and she always cries when I take her out.
-As always she is constantly trying to track Moxie down so that she can cover her in some sweet kisses!
-Lillian has become quite the little sharer. She always offers Daddy, Moxie and Mommy her sippy cup, food or pacies! And she loves to share toys with her cousin Eli; lets hope she keeps that up.
-After a little bit of Easter shopping earlier this week we took a break to ride the carousel and she LOVED it!
-And my new favorite thing that she is doing these days...pointing! She points at everything and anything that catches her eye; it is so cute!

Our Little Baby Eye-nstein

Melissa and I are always singing "Head, shoulder, knees, and toes" and going over our different body parts with Lillian, and it looks as if it finally getting through. We know it is a little silly, but we were really proud of our Little Einstein!

I could not believe how cold and windy it was today, and I hear that tomorrow is suppose to be even colder! Lillian and I ran a few errands, but spent the most of our Monday just playing around the house. I tried to snap a few pictures of Lillian in her bunny ears that Aunt Alli gave her, but Lillian was not having it! Tomorrow we are going to go and see the real Easter Bunny and I am keeping my fingers crossed that she does ok.

she looks like such a big girl to me in this pic

It's not just the weather that's got us down...

Lillian has been running a low fever on and off for a week now, but every time I would pick up the phone to call the pediatrician Lillian would start acting fine. But this morning our sweet little girl spiked a fever of 102 degrees, so I thought that it would be best to go ahead and take her to see Dr. Walley. Of course when we got to the doctor's office Lillian was laughing and playing acting totally normal, but she still had a fever when the nurse checked her. After Lillian impressed Dr. Walley with a little bit of walking (about 10 steps!) he checked her out and diagnosed us with a bad viral infection. We just have to let it runs its course and hopefully in a few days Lillian will be completely back to normal. Lillian is such a little trooper and even though she has run a fever of 101 or higher all day long she has continued to play and laugh, only needing a cuddle every now then to feel better.

she actually had a 101 temperature here, but still all smiles!
