All Saints' Thanksgiving Feast!

Lillian's class had their Thanksgiving feast today at her school. Shaun, Whitten and I got to come and enjoy lunch with our little Indian, who was very excited to show her baby brother off to all of her friends at school. Shaun and I LOVE Lillian's teachers and they have been so sweet to my baby girl. I wasn't sure if Shaun was going to be able to come to lunch because he had meeting scheduled all day, but after moving some things around he surprised all of us and came to eat. Lillian's face lit up when he walked in; she is such a Daddy's girl these days.

Play Date At The Park

Well, swinging was about as much playing as Lillian did today at the park. Earlier in the morning she had picked out and helped me pack her lunch for the park, and it wasn't long after we got there that she wanted her lunch box! So while her friends played on the slide Lillian ate both her snack and her lunch in one sitting. Still, it was a really nice day to be at the park and we all enjoyed just being outside. Whitten nursed and slept-nothing new there- while I chatted with some mommy friends about our Thanksgiving plans.

I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends, whose children are the same age as mine. When you can walk around the zoo and talk about everything from money, to husbands, to preschools, to more kids, to Teen Mom, to the kind of sides you prepare for dinner each night, you know that you have a special friendship : )

Our Rainy And Crazy Monday

Monday was so yucky, so I was kind of glad when Lillian told me that morning that she just wanted to stay home instead of going to our regular story time at the library.  We spent our rainy Monday having tea parties with her babies (who are both named Sarah...not sure where she got that one) and dancing for Whitten. Lillian also informed me a couple of times throughout the day that it was time for John Whitten's tummy time! She is such a little mommy!

By the end of the day the gross weather had gotten to all of us, and around 4:00 things started to go quickly downhill. Of course the second both kids start screaming and crying, each wanting their Mommy to hold them, Shaun sent me a text saying that he would be late....very late getting home that night. He must have heard their crying on the other end of the phone when he had called earlier to say hello. Thankfully, Shaun was able to get home just in time for bedtime. And here comes the part that reminds me how lucky I am to have Shaun as my husband... After he had worked a 13 hour day, he walks in the door scoops miss Lillian up with a BIG hug, gives me and Whitten both kisses and imdeitally asks, "What can I do to help you?". That will make any stay @ home mommy fall in love with my man! He then spent thirty or fourty minutes reading and talking with Lillian while he put her down for bed and I bathed Whitten. But wait their is more...after all of that the man makes a list and goes to the grocery store at 9:00 at night! I had, in my deffence, planned on taking the kids and going that day but it rained all day. Not a good idea to try and load and unload groceries, a toddler and an infant while it is pouring on all of you! Looks will fade, weight will fluxuate, money runs out, but a man that is willing to put that much effort into our family is someone you can be with forever. Lillian, Whitten and I are all very lucky- and grateful, very grateful!

John Whitten's Birth Announcement

I thought that I would blog a picture of Whitten's birth announcment for anyone who did not get to see it. I totally played the, "this is our last baby" card so Shaun would let me buy the more expensive birth announcement-which happened to be the one that I loved- but because we spent more money I could not send everyone one. Still, I loved how they turned out and I knew that I would get to share it with people via the blog!

2 Months Old

I cannot believe that Whitten is two months old! He has been smiling A LOT over the last week, and loves to grin at his Daddy. We go to the doctor on Thursday for his two month check up and I am anxious to see what my little piggy weighs. Our little boy loves to eat, he loves to be held and he loves baths. He is becoming much more predictable and sleeps and wakes on a pretty consistent schedule now. As of right now he is only waking up once a night between 2:00-4:00, but as soon as he eats he is right back asleep. 

Lillian loves he little brother so much, and is so loving towards him. When he cries she will sing Twinkle Twinkly Little Star to him and tell him ,"It's okay baby brother, Mommy be right back". Sometimes she can be a little too loving, but she is quickly learning that Whitten needs his own space too.

The Things That Come Out Of Her Mouth...

I have not posted anything lately because we ran out of space on our blog for pictures. At first I just thought that I would go ahead and create a whole new blog with a new blog address, but I then I just decided to buy more space. But for some reason blogger is STILL telling me that I have no space. Hopefully Shaun can figure it all out for me over the next few days.

But I wanted to blog a few things that Lillian has been saying to Shaun and I over the last few days. She is so funny, and it blows me away how perceptive that little girl is.

*It  had been a CRAZY afternoon at the Hays home, and I was SO glad when Shaun finally got home from work. While we were sitting at the dinner table Shaun asked me how our day was, to which Lillian quickly responded, "Mommy is stressing out Daddy".

*Lillian and I were cuddling on the couch after her nap yesterday when out of the blue she said to me, "I want my own baby like my Mommy." I told her that one day she would have her own baby just like Mommy. Lillian said, "I go to the doctor and get my own baby now Mommy. I get my own girl baby...no baby brother, baby girl". 

*Shaun was out of town for four days and four night last week. Lillian came in our room the first night he was gone and climbed up in the bed and laid down on his pillow. I thought she had fallen back asleep and she whispered, "Mommy, where is my Daddy?" I reminded her that he was working and would be back in a few days. She said, "I sleep on my Daddy's pillow for a few days Mommy".

*This morning her teacher asked her what was her favorite things she did this weekend. Lillian told her, "I go to my MeMe's house and eat chips and dip with Bailey". Lillian does LOVE her some chips and dip.

*Getting dressed one morning: I pulled the shirt down over her head and Lillian looks right at me and says, "I am beautiful Mommy. My Daddy says I am beautiful." This absolutely made my heart melt.

*Whenever she does something good Lillian always asks me, "I make Mommy's heart happy?"

I cannot believe how quickly my sweet little girl is growing up. I love every second and every silly conversation that I have with my little girl.
