Thanksgiving- Part 2

Our Thanksgiving- Part 1

Shaun and I have so much to be thankful for this year! God has been so good to our family and we are truly grateful. He has blessed us with another healthy child, provided my husband with a job that he loves and excels at, provided a home that is close to our family, church and friends and has worked in our marriage in ways that has brought Shaun and I closer together than we have ever been. And of course lets not forget what we are most thankful for every year....the death and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ. 

This year we spent our Thanksgiving at the beach with my family. This was a big deal for Shaun and I for a couple of reason. First, it was the first time that either of our little ones have ever been to the beach. Second, it was the first time that Shaun and I have been on vacation in over three years! Not to mentions that we were beyond excited to spend our Thanksgiving holiday relaxing on the beach rather than running all over Birmingham. However, we really did miss Papa Steve's Cajun turkey and MeMe's chicken and dumplings.   


To say that Lillian enjoyed the ocean and the sand would be an understatement. She LOVED the beach! And the cold pool at our beach house-the heater was broken- didn't phase her one bit. She and Shaun swam in that freezing pool for nearly an hour! Shaun was such a good sport, I know that he was not enjoying the ice cold water as much as Lillian was but he stayed in that pool as long as she wanted him too. Lillian was up every morning at her normal time, 5:30-6:30, so we got to see a couple of sun rises down on the beach while we were down there. I tried my best to get some pictures of my sweet kiddos in their Christmas outfits for our holiday cards, but it didn't turn out so great. Those pictures will be in my next post...who would have thought it would be hard to get a two year old to safely hold a 2 month old?

Whitten's Two Month Check Up

Today Whitten had his two month check up with our favorite pediatrician Dr. Walley. Before I give you the stats, let me just say that our little boy is a chuck! Dr. Walley was very impressed with how big Whitten was, especially sense he is exclusively breastfeed.  

Here are our sweet boys stats:

Weight: 14.1 pounds (95 percentile)

Length: 25 inches (90 percentile)

Head Circumference: 15.3 inches (20-25 percentile)

Here are some things that our little boy loves:

• Whitten is a Momma's boy!!
• He LOVES to eat (obviously)
• baths are a big hit with our little man. And usually if he is fussy at night a warm bath calms him right down.
• his big sister Lillian! He smiles SO big every time she talks to him, and reaches out for her face whenever she gets close to him. She sings to him all of time, and loves to read books to him all of the time.
• he loves his Daddy, and lights up whenever Shaun is holding him or talking to him.
• when he is fussy he likes to be held and walked  

Here are a few of the things Whitten does not like:

• Whitten gets fussy the same time every night, between 5:30 adn 8:00. He has this sad little cry that just breaks your heart, and the only thing that makes him feel better is a warm bath or nursing-even though he is playing more than eating.
• He dosent love to have his diaper or clothes changed, but is getting much more use to it.

Lillian and Whitten were pretty worn out afterwards...

but got some good cuddles from their Daddy.
