BIG BOY Haircuts!

John Whitten has finally overcome his fear of getting haircuts. And thank The Lord he did. I still feel horrible for the handful of barbers who tried to trim this little lion's mane. But now after the last two cuts he has calmed down a lot. He has gone from sitting in my lap with no cap(so hair gets all over both of us), to sitting in the booster seat by himself with the cap over him-BUT his hand MUST be out from under the cape! Of course his hands have to out from under the cape so that he can double fist his two suckers in his mouth. And of course while all this is happening Shaun and I are talking up the giant chocolate milkshake that we are going to buy him for being so "good".  All of these things usually have to come together smoothly and in good timing of course for John Whitten to actually get his hair trimmed! Oh, and the we have to tip the person like 17 bucks just for having to put up with the three of us.

But seriously.....look how adorable he is

Dawson Spring Program

This picture is from Lillian's spring programs at church back in May. I thought my kiddos looked too cute not to share it :)

Kidlife Week

In June our church had Kidlife(our church's version of vbs). I taught in Lillian's class this year and it was a lot of fun to be able to experience it with her and through her eyes. A couple of friends where in her class, and she was so excited to "share" her church with them. The theme this year was My Great, Big God...and boy is He a great BIG God! The best thing about volunteering to teach in Lillian's class was definitely getting the opportunity to worship side by side together. I loved watching her dance and sing along with the different praise and worship songs. It was definitely a special time for me.

Blog Hiatus

Where do I even begin? These last few months have been crazy. In May we had more birthdays than I can count-including Lillian's FIVE year birthday, Lillian preschool spring program and graduation, her spring program at church, about a million end of the year parties and mine and Shaun's wedding anniversary! Oh, and Mother's Day weekend. May was crazy and June has felt even more hectic! We have had a zillion play dates, vacation Bible school, late evening swimming the pool, Father's Day, Shepard's birthday and our beach vacation. I finally feel like things are starting to slow down and it's already half way through July. I am dreading September when school starts back for Lillian. I have loved every second our hot, sticky, exhausting fun summer days and will hate to see them go. I figured I would just do a BIG photo dump to catch up on these last few months. Enjoy....

**WARNING...PHOTO OVERLOAD!

Now that I am back on the blog train I will be updating like crazy trying to play catch up :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LILLIAN

Lillian,

I cannot even begin to tell you how proud your Daddy and I are of the young girl you have grown into. My heart bursts with pride every time that I look at you your sweet face. You have an incredibly kind heart, a generous spirit and a nurturing soul. Your concern for other people and how they feel is almost unnatural considering you are only five years old! You are mature beyond your years sweet girl, and sometimes that can be a blessing and a curse. Still, you take on every situation and every challenge with such grace and your Daddy and I could not be more proud of you. You have been a complete joy to watch grow over the last five years and we cannot wait to see what this year brings you! We love you to the moon and back....a million times over.
