Play Date At Jenny's House!

This past Thursday our friend Jenny invited us over to her NEW house for a play date with her little boys Eli (almost two) and Sam (5 months). I LOVED her new house and the great bonus room/playroom was a wonderful place for the kids to play. After our little ones had officially destroyed the playroom we ate lunch and then went to the pond right behind their house to feed the ducks and the fish. Lillian of course loved feeding them and I am sure she would have swam with those little fishy if I would have let her.

Thanks again Jenny for having us over for to play!

Lillian put her baby doll in the exersaucer with Sam...I guess she thought he was lonely.

Lillian thought she would try out Sam's Bumbo

Super Suppers!

A few weeks ago my friend Martina was at Super Suppers in Vestavia and dropped her Hubby's business card in the fishbowl to win a free dinner. Well, Camron's card ended up getting drawn and she won more than a free dinner- she won free dinners for ten couples! Shaun and I were pretty excited when she asked us to come (I have been wanting to go there for a while now). It really was a lot of fun and we not only got to eat a yummy free dinner, but we got to prepare and take home TWO different dinners-including sides- all for FREE! Shaun and I had a really good time and it was nice just to get to spend some time together. And I love it when Shaun gets to be around the people I pretty much hang out with everyday of the week. Thanks again Martina for inviting us last night!

Lillian and I pretty much hang out with these girls and their little ones everyday.

**Oh, one of the biggest things about last night was that Shaun and I actually left Lillian with a BABYSITTER! I am sure a few of you are picking your jaws up off of the ground, but she was a good friend and Lillian had a great time with her. Of course Alli and I asked our friend to keep Lillian and Eli together, because we thought that having each other would make it easier on them. Our friend said that Lillian didn't cry once, and only asked for me at the end of the night when she was ready for bed. And the best part was that Alli and I got to split the babysitting fee!

Safari Greg

This past Wednesday we met up with some friends to see Safari Greg at the Hoover Library ( a fun, free and air conditioned activity)! I personally would have liked a little less Greg and a little more Safari, but I think it was geared for older kids. Lillian enjoyed it but was not able to sit still through the whole show, but thankfully neither was a few of her squirmy two year old friends. So a couple of us moms excused ourselves about thirty minutes into the show upstairs for our little ones to play in the kids section. My Mom got to come with us sense she is off from school right now and was nice enough to treat us to lunch at the cafe in the library. I tried to get a picture of the kids with my Mom but none of them turned out very well (sorry mom). Lillian wasn't in the best mood that morning. I am not sure what next weeks library adventure is, but they have a couple of things every week that we enjoy going to.

Do you know why this little girl is so excited....

because she got a GIANT brownie!

26 Weeks

This past Tuesday we reached the 26 weeks mark of this pregnancy. I am not sure if it is the heat, or the terrible twos, or the fact that I am chasing a terrible two year old around all day in the 100 degree heat but I am pretty much exhausted by the time afternoon naps roll around. Lillian has started to really test her boundaries and I feel like I am constantly fighting her in some way or another, which really hasn't helped me much considering I just don't have the energy to put up with it right now. My belly is getting SO big, and it is actually starting to get in the way sometimes. Next week we have our 3D ultrasound which I am really excited about. We waited until I was 30 weeks when we had Lillian's done, but she was already so low that it was hard to get any good pictures. All she really wanted to show us was her little girl parts, so we are hoping that doing Whitten's 3D at 27 weeks will yield better pictures.

I am one growing Momma...

Whitten,
You are growing so much and your Daddy and I are getting more and more excited about your impending arrival with every passing day. We have stalled on your nursery but I am pretty sure we still have plenty of time to get everything we need. Your Daddy plans on painting your room as soon as he has one free weekend. He is so buys these days working hard and going to grad school at night that it is hard for him to find any time to do much of anything. He loves you and Lillian so much Whitten and wants to be able to give the two of you every opportunity in this life. You are so lucky to have him for your Daddy, and I know that he is already so proud of you. Right now he is playing the guitar to you as I type and you are bouncing all over the place. God is so good Whitten. He has lavished our family in blessings, and you sweet boy are one of those blessings. We praise Him everyday for your precious life!
I love you and cannot wait to hold you in my arms!

Mommy & Me Dance Class

Lillian and I had our very first Mommy and Me Dance class this evening! She was so proud of her ballet shoes and her little tutu. She kept twirling around and showing the other little girls her leotard. I knew that she would like going to this class, but I had no idea that she would love it as much as she did. When our class was over and we were leaving she kept saying "wait my turn Mama, wait my turn". She was not ready to go and wanted to stay for the next class, and I had to bribe her with a Happy Meal to get her in the car. I cannot wait to go back next week!

*sorry but I didn't get too many pictures because I was trying to be a good Mommy and actually participate in the Mommy and Me class.

Monday At McWane

We went to the McWane Center today with some friends and had a great time (other than having to wait on pizza). The Mr. Potato Head exhibit is going on right now and anyone who hasn't taken their little one to see it yet really should go before its over. Lillian loved Mr. Potato Head, which really surprised me because usually she doesn't like people dressed up in costume. This summer heat is so bad already that I am sure we will be spending a lot of time at the McWane Center this summer. There is nothing better than some air conditioned fun!

I was surprised how much Lillian loved Mr. Potato Head

I love this picture because we were actually having a little conversation.

Whitten's Car Seat

This morning Lillian and I had to get out of the house so that Shaun could get some work and studying done without the distraction of a needy pregnant women and an adorable two year old. So we decided that today would be a good day to go run some errands, return some clothes, and buy Whitten's car seat. Lillian was so excited to buy her "baby brother's seat" and a few of the other little things for Whitten. I am pretty much obsessed with BuyBuy Baby and could spend hours there just wandering around in that store. Thankfully for our checking account Lillian doesn't offer me much time in any store to just browse the merchandise.

I had anticipated on just leaving the car seat in the box in the garage for the time being, but I should have known better than that with Lillian. We just had to open it so that she could see it and put her baby doll in it. So Shaun let her help him open the box and she has pretty much spent the rest of this afternoon playing with it. At least I feel better about finally having bought an important item for Whitten. I cannot wait to carry him out of the hospital in his new car seat!

*Shaun used his keys one time to open something and now anytime need to open anything Lillian says, "keys Daddy please".

this is pretty much what Lillian did for the rest of the afternoon...
