This past weekend Shaun, Lillian and I went to Nashville, TN to spend time with my older brother Johnny and his wife Emily. The weather got so bad driving up that we actually had to pull over a couple of times, but eventually we made it to their house around 6:00 and headed out to eat dinner. Saturday morning Lillian woke up bright and early (her usual 5:30 wake up call) and immediately started asking to go to the pool. I tried to explain to her that the pool didn't open for a few hours, but unfortunately this meant nothing to my impatient two year old. After all the poor girl had ridden up in the car in her bathing suit so that she would be ready to jump in the second we pulled into Johnny's drive way. We did get to go to the pool but only stayed for about an hour and a half because it was over casted a little chilly. This turned out to be a good thing because Lillian got to take an early nap and we were able to go to the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. It was amazing! They currently have two great exhibits going on, The Golden Age Of Couture and Chihuly At The Frist. Dale Chihuly is an amazing artist who does glass blowing sculptures. If you ever get the opportunity to see one of his exhibitions you should!! Anyway, they also had a place for kids that was all about interactive art. Lillian had a great time running around and exploring all of the different stations and they actually had to kick us out at closing. Afterwards we headed to eat dinner at Chuy's-I have been wanting to eat at the new one in Birmingham- and then home to try get Lillian to bed at a decent time. Shaun, Johnny, Emily and I stayed up to almost 1:00 in the morning just talking. It was so good to be with them and catch up on the little things in our lives. This morning we went to Johnny and Emily's church, Brentwood Baptist, and really enjoyed our worship experience there. Well, at least what we got to experience anyway. Shortly after the praise and worship part of the service Lillian has a MAJOR melt down and Shaun and I eventually had to just put her in the car and leave. We had already packed up the car so we just decided to head back to Birmingham.
I know this has been a long post, but we really just had such a good time this past weekend and are so grateful for Johnny and Emily. Shaun and I love both of them so much and Miss Lillian is obsessed with both of them, and actually cried tonight for Emily when she went to bed.
Shaun snapped a quick picture of me and Whitten before going to the pool
this dog was made completely out of crayons

This was of course Lillian's favorite station; the girl loves to paint.

Looks like y'all had a fun time... but I thought Shaun wasn't going with yall?
He wasn't going to go so he could stay home and paint the kid's rooms, and do some school work. But we might have found a buyer so we are holding off on painting. I was just happy that he got to come with us!
Awwww!! your belly is so cute! Whitten is just a growin'! Looks like you had a fun time. We are heading up to Nashville next week to see my in-laws. I'll have to take Christian and Emory there.
