Bed Time With The Hays

For awhile after John Whitten's birth Shaun and I played a one on one defense in terms of our parenting. Shaun pretty much became Lillian's parent while I put the majority of my focus on John Whitten. Granted, John Whitten has needed more of my attention over the last couple of months, but I have definitely missed my time with Lillian. Now that John Whitten is almost three months old it seems like we are finally starting to get into a rhythm. Instead of a one on one approach we have changed it up to a zone defense. Before John Whitten was born, Shaun and I would usually put Lillian down at night together. But over the last couple of months Shaun has taken the lead in getting Lillian ready for bed, and I swoop in between bed time stories and prayers for a quick kiss and hug goodnight. But things are settling down here, and we have successfully transitioned into a functioning family of four. It is not always a smooth operation, but we make it work. Shaun and I are back to putting Lillian to bed together, just now John Whitten is right in there with us.  

Lillian always tries to convince us to let John Whitten to sleep with her...maybe one day.
