Christmas 2010

Shaun and I had really been looking forward to Christmas this year. Not only was it John Whitten's very first Christmas, but it was the first Christmas that Lillian really had a good understanding of what was going on. She had a birthday party for Jesus at school and in her Sunday school class-she now thinks that she gets cup cakes every Sunday. She loved putting the different ornaments for Advent on the tree everyday, and listening to Shaun read the Christmas story at night before bed time.

Christmas morning Lillian walked around saying "Merry Christmas Mommy. Merry Christmas Daddy. Merry Christmas John Whitten". She was so excited to open her presents and would say, "Look what I got" before she even ripped into the paper. Opening presents were very eventful...it took her forever to get through her present on Christmas morning because she would open one and then want to play with it for 30 minutes until we convinced her that she should open another one. John Whitten slept most of Christmas morning, but our family felt so complete having him with us sitting around the Christmas tree. My younger brother Mark came over for breakfast Christmas morning and watched Toy Story 3 with Lillian. I think Mark enjoyed it more than Lillian did.

Afterwards we headed over to Tina and Steve's house for a great Christmas day lunch and more presents! Lillian and John Whitten go SO much from my parents and Shaun's parents; we could open a toy store with how much stuff we have in our playroom. We are so blessed to have such giving people in our lives and are always extremely grateful for everything they do for us and our children. We are truly blessed!
