Lillian's Four Year Check Up

I have been a horrible blogger lately so I am trying to play catch up while the kids are napping. I realized that I while I blogged Lillian's four birthday, I never blogged about her four year check up. 

Ms. Lillian is one healthy little girl. In the last four years she has been to the doctor one time just weeks after she turned one, and that was when she was really sick and admitted to the hospital. All of her other doctors visits over the years have been for her yearly well child check ups. I am so thankful for this run of good health for my sweet girl. When I called this year to make her four year check up I asked if there would be any shots involved this year-she hasn't had one since she was 18 months old! The answer...yes! She was due for four shots and a finger prick! I was so nervous and pictured me having to hold her down screaming crying while the nurse jabbed her with needles. Much to my surprise Lillian sat perfectly with her legs straight out and watched the nurse give her all four of her shots. She held my hands and even gave us a nervous giggle when the nurse after she got the first two in one leg. After the the other two in the other leg she looked at me and said, "see, just a pinch". We had talked about a lot about how her shots would feel like a just little pinch. She also got her finger prick and she sat perfectly still for that as well. I was so proud of her and how brave she was. I knew that she was nervous about the shots and she was such a trooper. The good things about knocking out all four of these shots at this check up is that we don't have to worry about shots for Lillian again until she is heading into 6th grade! After Dr. Walley gave Lillian a clean bill of health we went and had a special lunch and then went home and cuddled the afternoon away curled up on the couch together.

• 34.6 pounds (75th percentile)
• 41 inches tall (95th pecentile)
