Happy Four Months John Whitten

Where have these last four month gone? I cannot believe that John Whitten is already four months old today. In many ways it feels like I just brought him home from the hospital yesterday. And then again it feels like he has always been with us; always apart of our little family. He is such a joy and he brightens our lives every day with his sweet smiles and easy going personality. We have John Whitten's four month check up next Wednesday morning, so I will be excited to update the blog with all of his four month stats! Already I know that he weighs over 16 pounds, which I think is crazy considering Lillian only weighed 15.2 lbs at her SIX month check up. Our little boy is definitely a little chunky boy and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Here a few of John Whitten's loves:
  • He LOVES his Mommy! Don't get me wrong he loves his Daddy too, but nothing comforts him like his Mommy does.
  • John Whitten LOVES to eat! I seriously cannot get dressed in front of him without him wanting to snack a little bit.
  •  He loves his big sister Lillian. Even though she can sometimes be a little too helpful, she is so sweet with her baby brother. He smiles SO big when she comes up to him and is starting laugh a lot at the silly things she does.
  • Our little man loves the swing....still! I seriously think we are close to reaching the weight limit on that thing, but it is the only way I get to shower in the mornings.
  • He still has a love/hate relationship with swaddling. Some nights he loves it and it is the only way we can get him to go to sleep. And then other nights he freaks out until we "free" him as Shaun says.
  • John Whitten LOVES his Sophie the Giraffe...the best teething toy out there.
  • He really loves his play time on the floor
  • LOVES his sweet little hands! They are always in his mouth!
Here are a few things John Whitten doesn't Like so much:
  • He still HATES bottles and will not take one. I have tried at least five different kind of bottles and nipples but he continues to act like we are trying to choke him to death. And I guess I really can't blame him. Wouldn't you rather have the real things too if you where a little baby?
  • John Whitten is not a fan of the car seat. We can't go many places without him getting upset. But the second we put the car in park he stops crying!
  • Our sweet boy also hates sleeping at night. He would rather just hang out with us and usually doesn't go to sleep for the night until 11:00.
John Whitten's Four Month Milestones/ Doings:
  • The boy has TWO teeth!! I cannot believe that he had two teeth before he even turned four months old. They have been bothering him a lot lately so we have been keeping the Tylenol on hand.
  • He has rolled over from his back to his tummy and from his tummy to his back....but he doesn't do it often. And when he does roll from his back to his tummy he always gets one arm stuck under him and I have to to pull it out.
  • Right now he take a morning nap from 10:00-11:30, naps in the afternoon from 1:30-3:00(if I am lucky), takes a little dinner nap around 5:00 or 6:00 for 45 minutes to an hour, and then finally goes to sleep around 10:30-11:00 (we are working on that one). Usually he will sleep until 4:00 or 5:00am and then eat and go back to sleep until 8:00-8:30.
  • He eats constantly!

we don't know what we would do with Sophie the Giraffe
