"No Lillian, the Baby Is Not Hurting Mommy"

I have had really bad cramps the last few days, and this morning in random conversation I told Lillian that my tummy was hurting. She didn't seem to care too much at the time and I was really just talking out load, because that's usually the kind of conversations you have with two year olds. But this afternoon I sat down on the couch and kind of groaned a little bit because of my cramps. Lillian stooped coloring and asked me, "you okay Momma?". That little comment melted my heart, but what she said next made me feel bad for complaining. After I told her that I was okay she said, "Oh no, Baby hurt Mommas tummy". I quickly told her that our Baby was not hurting Mommy, but she insisted on lifting up my shirt and telling Whitten, "No hurt Momma baby".

I am still getting use to how much of a conversation Lillian can actually have with Shaun and I these days. Her communication skills have just flourished over the last few months, but especially in these last couple of weeks. Just having her make these comments this afternoon reminded me that I have to be VERY careful what I say around her. And I don't want her to think that the Baby is hurting me, so I think that I am going to have to complain less.

Hudson constantly asks "How Lois Anne feeling today?" " How you feeling today, Mommy?"
Is it not the sweetest thing ever?
